FC Tricorn won a hard fought Paddy Heffernan/Dave Benson Trophy win a 3-1 win after extra time. It was a tight affair with both teams cancelling
each other out but Bridge Timber took the lead after 11 minutes when Kev Wards menacing corner was headed home by Ste Coady to give Timber the lead. The game continued to be even with little chances coming for both teams and at
the interval it was 1-0 to Bridge. Tricorn came out with a determined attitude in the second half and battled for every ball, with both defences soaking up good attacking football , Tricorn sensed an equaliser would come after
Danny Cummins's free kick bounced back off the cross bar on 75 minutes and it was in the 80th minute when Tricorn got their deserved equaliser. A free kick from 25 yards was spilled by Timbers keeper Stringer and Paul Molly was
quickest to react to knock in from close range. After 90 minutes extra time was played and Tricorn deservedly went ahead in the 93rd minute when a long hopeful ball over the top deceived everyone except Anton Ellison who had
the easiest of tasks to give them the lead. Karl Thomas nearly levelled with a close range header but Tricorn defended well with Davies and Woods in particulary good form and Paul Dwyer made the game safe in the last minute to
give them a great 3-1 win. Wesley Farrington was awarded MOM - here is the presentation ceremony, presided over by Mr Eduard Jones...(REQUIRES FLASH PLAYER)
